After gaining a B. Sc. (Hons) degree from The University of Leeds, Yorkshire, England, in 1969, Timothy Twidle worked for 29 years in the mining industry of South Africa as a metallurgical engineer. In 1998 he relocated to Plettenberg Bay and since then has been self employed as a writer, photographer, artist and radio presenter; he has been involved with local radio in Plettenberg Bay and Knysna since 2004. His interests include reading, walking, the flora of South Africa and classical music. Classic Sunday presents a miscellany of classical music, interspersed with readings of poetry and excerpts from a popular novel, together with updates in the field of the arts, theatre and music in Plettenberg Bay and Knysna - the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Edward Elgar, Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninov, Christoph Willibald Gluck, George Frederick Handel and Edvard Grieg are typically played during the programme.
